The Beta Symposium 2026 will take place on Thursday, 19 November 2026, at Kontakt der Kontinenten in Soesterberg, the Netherlands.

The symposium is organized for the Beta community and will offer an engaging program for both faculty members and PhD candidates.

The preliminary program includes plenary talks by Gréanne Leeftink (University of Twente) and Lissa Melis (Maastricht University), research presentations by 21 PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers, and ample opportunities for networking, followed by dinner.

Beta PhD Networking Event 2026

PhD candidates are also invited to join the Beta PhD Networking Event on Wednesday, 18 November 2026.

This year’s program includes a workshop by Wouter Rogiest (Patentales and Ghent University) on working in academia versus industry, followed by dinner, a social activity, and drinks.

Participants who attend both the PhD Networking Event and the Beta Symposium can earn 0.5 ECTS and will be offered an overnight stay by Beta.
