Assess mechanisms for prioritization by developing queueing models. The booking system in freight transport systems works quite differently from others. Typically, shippers are not penalized for making multiple bookings and if they pay for a service and miss it, they can still use it later. This induces two problems with regards to wasted reserved carrier capacity and availability and a need for rescheduling or rematching “no-shows”. The platform will provide mechanisms to evaluate the reliability such that the booking will depend on the overall ranking and determine who to prioritize in the system to achieve optimal welfare/utility.
