Due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources, a consistent energy supply cannot be assumed. This PhD research focuses on developing (1) a simulation model for evaluating what-if scenarios using a discrete-event Monte Carlo simulation based on varying energy inputs, and (2) an industrial process planning module using mathematical/stochastic optimization algorithms.
