Designing AI in the loop for industry 5

Start Date Research: 09/01/2024
As a Ph.D. candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology, I am engaged in the frontier of behavioral operations management, focusing on the intersection of human decision making and artificial intelligence within industrial processes. My research aims to bridge the gap between AI’s predictive capabilities and the nuanced judgment of human operators, fostering a collaborative environment where both entities can optimize process outcomes in real-time. Through rigorous behavioral studies and close collaboration with industrial partners, my colleagues and I explore how AI can seamlessly integrate into daily operations, ultimately contributing to the vision of a sustainable and human-centered Industry 5.0. Our work addresses technical challenges and seeks to enhance the explainability and usability of AI models, ensuring they are both powerful and accessible to the humans who rely on them.
