The Horizon project e-CODUCT aims to change this. Specifically, CO2 and another industrial byproduct, H2S, will be captured from an industrial waste steam and converted into the useful products CO and Sx. To enable this reaction, a two-reactor system is used. The first reactor converts CO2 and H2S to COS under mild conditions, and the second reactor converts COS to CO and Sx under high temperatures. As the second reactor requires a high energy input, renewable energy sources are employed in order to make this process sustainable.
