AI for Sustainable Manufacturing in the High Tech Industry

Start Date Research: 01/01/2024
Funded by the AIMS5.0 European Project, the aim of this research is to address problems in the manufacturing processes with respect to concerns related to sustainability and traceability. This project has various partners from high tech industry, such as Philips, Signify and NXP. In addition to the information and requests from our partners, facility visits are also scheduled to understand the current methodologies and to observe the problems in the manufacturing process on site. Since these partners from industry want to integrate automated manufacturing in their facilities, the main focus of this research is to generate AI based algorithms that are sustainable and efficient for the inventory, planning, scheduling, and quality control problems during the manufacturing. Depending on the use cases and data, these algorithms may require Markov Decision Process as well as Machine Learning approaches.
